HONG KONG QUALITY MIGRANT ADMISSION SCHEME

Age: The applicant must be aged 18 or above when lodging an application under the Scheme. To support the claim, the applicant should submit his/her proof of identity, such as a valid travel document.
Financial Requirement: The applicant must be able to demonstrate that he/she is capable of supporting and accommodating himself/herself and his/her dependants, if any, on his/her own financial resources without relying on public assistance during his/her stay in Hong Kong.
Good character: The applicant should not have any criminal record or adverse immigration record in Hong Kong or elsewhere.
Language proficiency: The applicant should be proficient in written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese) or English.
Educational Qualifications: Applicants must have a good background when It comes to education. Ideally an applicant should have an undergraduate degree, earned from a recognised university/institution in first class. If the applicant does not possess a degree, his/her technical qualifications, professional experience and achievements are taken into consideration. Factor 6: Family Background (Maximum 20 points)
An applicant may score the following points according to his/her family background:
At least one immediate family member (married spouse, parents, siblings, children) is a Hong Kong permanent resident

A minimum passing mark is set under the General Points Test. Interested parties are advised to assess whether their credentials are adequate to meet the minimum passing mark before submitting an application. The minimum passing mark is subject to change from time to time.
ACHEIVEMENT BASED POINTS TEST
This point-based test is formatted to attract foreign nationals with distinctive talent/skill and excellent achievements. Applicants can score points under this test on the basis of the following factors:
On Receiving awards for distinguished achievements, such as Nobel prize or an Olympic medal or getting acknowledgment of significant contribution to a particular field. A Lifetime achievement award in a particular industry is a good example of that.

Selection Exercise

Notice of Selection Result
Result of quota allotment will be published on the Immigration Department website within 15 working days after the result of each selection

Issuing Approval-in-principle letter
Applicants with quota allotment will be invited to come to Hong Kong within three months for an
interview
Issuing Visa/Entry Permit
Successful applicants will normally be issued with visas/entry permits within one week
following verification of all original documents
